Outspoken ex-Cardinals DE Darnell Dockett reportedly will retire Monday
Dockett racked up the seventh-most sacks in franchise history
Darnell Dockett is reportedly planning on calling it quits. On Sunday, ESPN's Josh Weinfuss reported that Dockett will announce his retirement on Monday.
For 10 seasons, after being drafted in the third round of the 2004 draft, Dockett terrorized quarterbacks while wearing a Cardinals' jersey. In his career, he recorded 40.5 sacks, which ranks as the seventh-most in Cardinals history, and managed to find the end zone twice in his career. He also tied a Super Bowl record with three sacks in Super Bowl XLIII.
Most importantly, he was durable for the majority of his career. From 2004-2013, Dockett missed just two games.
He was perhaps just as well known for his persona away from the field. He claimed to own alligators and a tiger.

He even gave a group of kids a pep talk about getting a girlfriend, avoiding drugs, and staying away from strip clubs -- for now.
Dockett hasn't played since the 2013 season, as he missed all of 2014 with a torn ACL and was cut by the 49ers before last year. In his career, he went to three Pro Bowls.
