Patriots' Dion Lewis out for the season after tearing ACL against Washington
The Patriots won't have Dion Lewis for the rest of the season.
Patriots running back Dion Lewis will miss the rest of the 2015 season after tearing his ACL against the Redskins on Sunday, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora has confirmed.
The shifty running back was injured during the third quarter of New England's 27-10 win over Washington. Lewis appeared to injure himself while trying to make a cut after being grabbed from behind by defensive lineman Chris Baker.

The Patriots running back grabbed his knee as soon as he made the cut.
After the game, Tom Brady was said it would be "tough" for the Patriots to lose a player like Lewis.
"It's such a physical game and tough to lose such a special player," Brady said.
Before getting injured, Lewis had been a vital part of the Patriots' offense this season. The 25-year-old running back is New England's second leading rusher (234 yards, two touchdowns) and third leading receiver (388 yards, two touchdowns) on the year.
Lewis' biggest game of the season came in a Week 2 win over Buffalo when the running back totaled 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 40-32 win.
Less than two weeks after that game, the Patriots signed Lewis to a two-year, $3.8 million extension that included a $600,000 signing bonus.
The injury to Lewis will mean more carries for LeGarrette Blount, but it also means the Patriots will be losing the most elusive running back in the NFL.
Created the Elusive Rating as a rough 0-100 scale. Previous best mark over a season was 106.9. Dion Lewis finished at 165.2.

Lewis was also tough to take down. Through eight games this season, Lewis had broken 43 tackles. To put that in perspective, no other running back in the NFL had even broken 40 tackles.
