For the first time in 80 years, the Republican National Convention returned to Cleveland on Monday. Unfortunately for the GOP, things didn't exactly get off to a hot start for the top ranking member of the party, Paul Ryan.

During one of his first events on Monday morning, the Speaker of the House pulled out a Terrible Towel and started waving it, which is a giant no-no in Cleveland.

To be fair, Ryan was speaking in front of a group of Pennsylvania delegates at the time, although that explanation probably isn't going to sit well with Browns fans, or Eagles fans for that matter.

If he's talking to the Pennsylvania delegates, where's his support for Philadelphia?!?!?!?

Anyway, if Donald Trump loses the state of Ohio, it's probably going to be because Ryan single-handedly lost the Browns' fan vote with one simple gesture.

Ryan probably doesn't feel bad about what he did because he's definitely not a Browns fan. The U.S. Representative from Wisconsin is a hardcore Packers fan who not only owns stock in the team, but he attended the Dez Bryant "no-catch" playoff game between the Packers and Cowboys in January 2015.

Ryan also seems to genuinely like the Steelers. After all, he is picking them to play in Super Bowl LI against the Packers.

I would make fun of his pick, but I might end up making the same one, so I'm just going to compliment Ryan on his amazing football acumen.

That fact that Ryan thinks the Steelers are good probably has a lot to do with their quarterback. Both Ryan and Ben Roethlisberger attended the same college (Miami of Ohio). As a matter of fact, I also attended the school, which means I should also probably start carrying a Terrible Towel around at all times.

Here's a Miami of Ohio tidbit: The school is one of just four in the country -- along with Navy, Michigan and Stanford -- that has produced a Super Bowl winning quarterback and a President of the United States.
