Hurricane Matthew rolled along the Atlantic Coast over the past 48 hours, leaving a path of flooding and destruction in its wake. The damage was even worse to islands in the Caribbean, with hundreds dying and millions in damage being done.

One NFL owner, Daniel Snyder of the Redskins, did work to try and help one of the impacted islands by flying down "a plane full" of supplies to help the area.

The supplies include batteries, bottled water, Cliff Bars and palettes of other non-perishable food.

The gift was much appreciated by those in the Bahamas, with Bahamas Minister of Tourism, Obie Wilchcombe, telling NFL Network's Mike Garafolo the Redskins have "gained even more Bahamian fans" as a result.

"We are grateful to our partners, the Washington Redskins, who wasted no time in offering assistance to The Islands of The Bahamas. This organization led by example mobilizing immediately to bring relief to our people who are in need," Bahamas Minister of Tourism, Hon. Obie Wilchcombe said in a statement. "We know that there are many Bahamians who will benefit from these donations. We want to thank the Redskins, especially owners Daniel and Tanya Snyder who are no strangers to our beautiful country. It is our hope that other organizations will follow the example set by the Redskins.

"I think it is safe to say that the Redskins organization has gained even more Bahamian fans this football season."
