The Bills' 16-0 win over the Patriots surprisingly turned into a boring blowout Sunday, but don't tell that to referee Pete Morelli. He thought the game was exciting, and we know that because he left his mic on during a timeout and told the entire stadium his thoughts on the game.

During the third quarter, Morelli went over to another official during a stop in play and had a brief conversation.

"Turned into a pretty good game," Morelli said, via ESPN.com. "But one big hit, this s--- could explode."

Although Morelli's comments didn't make it on television, any of the 66,829 fans who were listening to the stadium's sound system at that time heard Morelli cuss. Unfortunately for all the Patriots fans in attendance, Morelli's prediction that the game "could explode" with one big hit never happened.

Instead, Patriots fans had to sit through one of the worst losses in franchise history. The 16-0 loss marked the first time that the Patriots were shut out at Gillette Stadium. It also marked the first time that New England had been shut out at home since 1993.

For Patriots fans, the only real action they got to see on Sunday came in the first quarter when Bill Belichick decided to destroy a Microsoft tablet.

As for Morelli, who has 20 years of officiating experience in the NFL, the curse word might not have been the worst part of his day. Earlier in the game, the ref pointed the wrong way on a pass interference call.
