Rex Ryan: 'The last team I'll ever coach will be the Buffalo Bills'

New Bills coach Rex Ryan held his introductory press conference on Wednesday and sounded a lot like the old swagg-tastic Rex Ryan, back when the Jets were good.
And while Ryan faces many of the same issues upstate that led to his demise in the city -- namely, finding a quarterback -- he insists that this will be his last coaching job.
"This is it. This is my last stop. This is it for me," Ryan said Thursday during an appearance on ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike. "The last team I'll ever coach will be the Buffalo Bills, and I hope it's 15 years from now."
It's been 15 years since the Bills last made it to the postseason. In that time, they've had six coaches and 12 starting quarterbacks. Put another way: Ryan has his work cut out for him. But don't expect him to change.
"I'm going to be myself, and this is the direction that we're going to take," he said. "Be true to yourself, and that's exactly what I'm going to be.
"I think I've got to put everything in. Just like [Buffalo fans] put everything in, I'm putting every single thing that I have into coaching this football team. That's it for me. This'll be my last shot. I don't care if I'm young, whatever. It makes no difference. Every ounce of my energy will be to build this team. And the great thing is, it's not like I'm building this by myself. I've got some great people around me with the same direction, and that's why I'm so confident."

Dennis Thurman, who was on Ryan's staff in New York, will be his defensive coordinator in Buffalo. And Greg Roman, who worked with Colin Kaepernick in San Francisco, will be the offensive coordinator -- and tasked with getting the most out of EJ Manuel should the Bills choose to continue down that path in 2015.
"I'm trying to put together an all-star staff that's not about individuals, but about the team," Ryan said Thursday.
