One of the most bizarre things to happen to an NFL player this offseason came on July 3 when Jaguars running back Denard Robinson somehow drove his car into a pond.

After the incident happened, most people had the same question: How exactly do you drive your car into a pond?

Although it's still not completely clear how Robinson ended up in the pond, a traffic video released by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on Wednesday shed some light on what exactly happened in the early morning hours of July 3.

At about the 40-second mark in the video below, Robinson pulls up to a red light, but there's one problem: He's on the wrong side of the road. After that, Robinson continues to veer off the road.

The Jaguars running back and his female passenger would eventually end up in a retention pond on the side of the road, which happens after the traffic video ends.

From the police report:

"The driver (Denard Robinson) opened his eyes and then went back to sleep," the officer wrote. "I continued to knock on the window until the passenger Marissa Staples woke up and rolled the window down and said "what's up".I explained that their vehicle was in a pond and that they needed to exit the vehicle. The passenger attempted to roll the window back up. I was able to reach in the vehicle and unlock the door so I could help the occupants exit the vehicle. The passenger refused to exit the vehicle and had to be pulled out of the car."

The officer also added that they had to tell Robinson to get out of the car at least three times before he took action. The Jaguars running back would eventually exit the car, but only after an officer helped him.

The good news for Robinson is that he didn't get cited or arrested at the time because it was determined that he wasn't impaired or under the influence of any drugs or alcohol.

The fact that Robinson ended up in a pond and didn't get charged with anything raised a few eyebrows at the Jacksonville's Sheriff's Office, so they decided to investigate the incident. On July 15, Robinson was charged with one count of careless driving.

Although Robinson was charged, the situation still isn't over. The officers who responded to the scene are being investigated.

"I think they decided a ticket should have been written," a police spokesman told ESPN.com. "[The citation] was last week, but as far as the investigation into the officers, that is still ongoing."

Robinson is going into his fourth season with the Jaguars. The 2013 fifth-round pick has totaled five rushing touchdowns, 914 rushing yards and 288 receiving yards during his first three years in Jacksonville.
