Teddy Bridgewater honors Prince with an Omaha-like treatment in training camp
Vikings continue to honor Prince, who passed away in April
If training camp serves as any indication, when Teddy Bridgewater steps up to the line of scrimmage this fall and surveys the defense, he'll come armed with a new codeword that'll be used to communicate with his offense. Every quarterback -- not just Peyton Manning -- is equipped with more than a few (with "Omaha" being the most notable), so this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
It also shouldn't come as a surprise to hear that Bridgewater is paying tribute to Prince, who passed away at 57 in April, with his new codeword.
As ESPN reported, Bridgewater's new line call is "Purple Rain." At least that's what he was using at the Vikings' first padded-practice on Sunday.
"Purple Rain," of course, is what Prince called his 1984 album. He also starred in "Purple Rain," the movie.
This isn't the first time the Vikings have honored Prince. According to ESPN, the Vikings put up a piece of art at different locations around their new stadium that tributes him.

The team previously turned U.S. Bank Stadium into Purple Heaven with their LED lights.

It won't be the last time. On Oct. 13, the Vikings' stadium will host a Prince tribute concert.
Prince, born Minnesota, rooted for the Vikings, which the team mentioned in their response to his death.
Now, we conclude things with what else but some "Purple Rain:"
