The Browns are so bad they gave up 8 points in 4 plays with no time on the clock
Cleveland gonna do Cleveland things
The Browns aren't very good at football. That's evident by their record, a cool 0-10 so far in 2016. They're a team that often manages to pull off impossibly bad plays and make impressively terrible mistakes.
They did just that at the end of the first half against the Steelers on Sunday, somehow handing Pittsburgh multiple free plays to score with zero time remaining on the clock.
That doesn't seem to make sense, right? Let's run through what happened.
On third-and-8 from the Browns' 11-yard line, with the clock running down, Ben Roethlisberger hit Eli Rogers for 8 yards and a first-and-goal. The Steelers used their final timeout with 10 seconds remaining, hoping to get a shot at the end zone before, everyone assumed, kicking a field goal.
On the first play after the timeout, Roethlisberger fired an incomplete pass to Cobi Hamilton that took five seconds off the clock. With just five seconds left, surely Mike Tomlin would send out Chris Boswell to kick the field goal and go up 9-0.
Nope.
Instead, Tomlin called for another pass from Roethlisberger -- not necessarily a terrible call if you can get it off quickly and then kick with one second left. The Steelers didn't do that, instead using up the entire clock before the ball fell incomplete near Antonio Brown.
But wait, there's the Browns. Briean Boddy-Calhoun was called for defensive holding. That meant the Steelers got an untimed down and naturally they were going to kick now.
Nope!
Once again Tomlin dialed up a pass.
Mike Tomlin does not live in his fears

Roethlisberger again targeted Brown and Cleveland again was flagged for a penalty. This time it was even worse, with Joe Haden committing a totally unnecessary defensive pass interference penalty.
So now maybe Tomlin would kick?
NOPE.
The Steelers dialed up a run for Le'Veon Bell, who plunged into the end zone to give Pittsburgh a 12-0 lead.
Mike Tomlin just gave every old, take-the-points football fan in America a heart attack.

Needless to say the Steelers did not kick the extra point.
Which is fascinating because as of 3 p.m. ET there had been eight -- EIGHT -- extra points missed so far during Week 11's action.
7 missed first-half PATs today. I think sometime soon we'll see a lot more teams taking Mike Tomlin approach to extra points.

It was a bizarre bit of coaching, but if you're into results, you can't argue with the way it worked out. For the Browns it just felt like Groundhog Day.
