The Eagles offseason almost took a disastrous turn on Wednesday when the unthinkable happened: Carson Wentz somehow got locked in a bathroom at a gas station in New Jersey.

Luckily for the Eagles, Wentz lived through the harrowing ordeal and was able to share the story with everyone on Twitter.

It's not quite clear what happened, but one thing is clear: There was a guy with garden shears involved.

Thanks to Wentz's story, New Jersey gas station bathrooms might have just shot ahead of Florida gas station bathrooms as the scariest places on the planet.

New Jersey gas stations have always been different. For one, they don't let you pump your own gas, and now, their bathrooms are eating NFL draft picks.

Anyway, the most entertaining part of this bathroom story is that Twitter went nuts after hearing about it.

First, there were some questions about the shears.

That's definitely a logical question.

There were also a few jokes that came at the expense of the Jets and Giants. Actually, there were a lot of those jokes.

There was also an Eli Manning joke.

People also made fun of the Eagles.

A toilet joke! Amazing.

We probably shouldn't be too hard on Wentz for this incident because, apparently, people regularly get locked into gas station bathrooms in New Jersey.

Like I said, the "scariest place on the planet" is a New Jersey gas station bathroom.

As a matter of fact, it's so bad that New Jerseyans don't even use the gas station bathrooms in New Jersey.

The moral of the story here is obviously: Don't ever lock yourself in a gas station bathroom, but if you do, don't tweet about it.

The other moral is that if you have to use a New Jersey gas station bathroom, make sure there's someone around with a pair of shears before you walk in.
