Von Miller: 'Everybody who has counted (Manziel) out is just wrong'
The Broncos' star pass-rusher continues to defend Johnny Manziel.
Even in the offseason, Von Miller is a busy man. He's got a gig on Dancing With the Stars and he's training for the upcoming NFL season.
Last, but not least, he's practically taken on the role of Johnny Manziel's PR person -- even advocating for the Broncos to sign the troubled ex-Browns quarterback.
Miller, who has repeatedly supported his friend despite all of the QB's issues away from the field, continued to do so Saturday. At his high school for a ceremony in his honor, Miller fielded questions about Manziel, who has generated some unflattering headlines in the past few weeks because of his partying habits.
Here's a sample of Miller's Q&A, per the Dallas Morning News:
Q: Anything you want to say to him?
"Yea, I want to help get Johnny back to Johnny Manziel. Johnny Football, that's beside the fact. I want to get Johnny back to being Johnny Manziel. I remember what it was for me when I was in a similar situation, it was the people around me that helped motivate me to get to the same Von that I was.
"He's had people walk out on him. He's had people who have given up on him. I'm not going to be that guy. I've never been that guy. Johnny's my brother. I didn't play with him at Texas A&M, but he's my brother and we have a unique relationship. I'm here to help him no matter what it is. I'm tied to him, good or bad. You can't ever count anybody out and I think everybody who has counted him out is just wrong.
"You have to take life one day at a time and I'm here with him and I'm here to remind him that I'm here to help him."
Miller went on to say that he FaceTimes with Manziel on a daily basis, but he confirmed that they are not roommates. He did add, however, that he doesn't see anything wrong with the idea of the two of them living together.
"We're not but if we were, I don't see a problem with that," Miller said. "He's my brother. If any one of my biological brothers had problems and they moved in with me, nobody would have a problem with that. It's the same with Johnny, he's my brother. I don't see a problem with him moving in. I'm here to help him. Over everything else, I'm going to be with him every single day. He's not living with me but we do continue to talk every single day and I'm here to help. I have his back."

When asked if he believes Manziel has a future in the NFL, Miller reiterated that he's more concerned about Johnny Manziel than Johnny Football. Really, the two (Manziel the person and Manziel the player) seem to go hand-in-hand considering Manziel's issues away from the field have put his future in the league in doubt.
Since getting released by the Browns, Manziel's spent much of his time partying in Los Angeles. When TMZ spoke to him on one of those nights, Manziel indicated that he didn't see anything wrong with partying as long as he wasn't out of control. Reportedly, though, he seemed to be out of control. Agent Drew Rosenhaus also dropped Manziel as a client unless he's willing to receive treatment.
And, of course, there's the issue of his alleged domestic violence case, which is still reportedly waiting to be heard by a grand jury.
