WATCH: NFL makes it clear that hugging refs is off limits, flags Earl Thomas after TD
Thomas decided to make a new friend after his first touchdown of the season
Earl Thomas has scored touchdowns before this week, but he may never have been happier about it than he was after returning a fumble by Mark Ingram to the house early Sunday in the first quarter. Thomas scooped, scored, then decided to celebrate not just with teammate K.J. Wright, but also with the closest available referee.
Here's the touchdown, which was pretty easy once Thomas recovered the fumble:

Earl Thomas flagged for hugging an official. NFL truly stands for No Fun League

Maybe Earl just wanted to make a new friend. In any event, Thomas was flagged for 15 yards on the play.
