Every week, NFL reporters have a conference call with coaches and several players from the team that the team they cover is playing during that upcoming week. During the Buffalo media's conference call with Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, Walt Patulski of the Buffalo News got on the phone and asked Edelman if he'd be playing quarterback against the Bills this weekend.

Who's Walt Patulski? Glad you asked.

That's right. It's Rex Ryan! It's positively shocking that Rex would do something weird and media-worthy during the week his team is playing the Patriots. (Note: No, it's not.) As expected, he did not get a real answer to the question, as Edelman noted that he'd even get water for the players on the sideline if Bill Belichick asked him to.

Walt Patulski, by the way, is a real guy. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1972 draft, selected out of Notre Dame by ... the Bills. He played four years in Buffalo and one year with the then-St. Louis Cardinals before suffering a career-ending knee injury.
