  • Saints' Evan Hull: Logs two carries Week 18

Hull totaled two rushes for 11 yards during Sunday's 19-17 defeat against the Falcons. Hull once again played second fiddle behind Audric Estime, who tallied 21 carries for 63 yards. The Saints were without their top three running backs over the final three weeks of the regular season, as Alvin Kamara (knee) remained inactive while Kendre Miller (knee) and Devin Neal (hamstring) finished the year on IR. Hull tallied just nine carries over this span, finishing the 2025 campaign with 19 rushing attempts for 48 yards over six appearances. He joined the Saints' practice squad in late October before being signed to the active roster Nov. 25.

  • Saints' Evan Hull: Logs two rushes in win

Hull tallied two carries for three yards during Sunday's 34-26 victory versus Tennessee. Hull had a minimal workload for the fifth week in a row, while fellow backup running back Audric Estime saw an increased workload with a team-high 14 carries for 94 yards. These two have filled in for the Saints' depleted backfield with Devin Neal (hamstring) and Kendre Miller (knee) on IR while RB1 Alvin Kamara (knee) is still sidelined. The 25-year-old Hull has now totaled 17 carries for 36 yards across five appearances this season. He should once again see sparse usage in New Orleans' regular-season finale versus Atlanta.

  • Saints' Evan Hull: Splits backup RB duties

Hull had five rushes for three yards during Sunday's 29-6 victory versus the Jets. Hull split carries with fellow backup running back Audric Estime, who had five carries for 19 yards along with four receptions (on five targets). RB1 Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) and Devin Neal (hamstring) were both inactive, but Taysom Hill ultimately served as the team's leading rusher with 12 carries for 42 yards and four catches (on six targets). Hull will likely be limited going forward, even if Kamara and Neal remain sidelined Week 17 versus Tennessee.

  • Saints' Evan Hull: Four touches as fellow RB gets hurt

Hull rushed four times for 12 yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Panthers. Hull and Audric Estime were the only options remaining at running back after Devin Neal (hamstring) exited in the second quarter. Estime finished with 50 scrimmage yards on three carries and three targets. Hull and Estime would likely share backfield work in Week 16 against the Jets if the Saints don't get Neal or Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) back.

  • Saints' Evan Hull: Records two touches in Tampa Bay

Hull notched one carry for four yards and reeled in his only target for six yards during Sunday's 24-20 victory against the Buccaneers. With Alvin Kamara out for the second game in a row, Hull once again saw the field in the Saints' injury-riddled running-back room. This week, Devin Neal took on a bigger role as the RB1 with 19 carries, and fellow backup Audric Estime saw more run with three carries compared to zero in the previous game. Hull has now accumulated seven rushing attempts in four career games across his first three seasons. Even if the Saints are hit with more injuries at running back, it's unlikely that Hull will be their first choice to help fill the void. Fantasy owners shouldn't expect much out of him during the Week 15 contest versus Carolina.

  • Saints' Evan Hull: Logs five carries in NOLA debut

Hull tallied five carries for 15 yards during Sunday's 21-17 loss versus Miami. Alvin Kamara was inactive with an MCL sprain suffered last week, leaving Hull, Devin Neal and Audric Estime as the Saints' three active running backs. Neal handled the bulk of the rushing workload with 14 carries while playing 82 percent of offensive snaps. Meanwhile, Hull played just 18 percent of offensive snaps, while Estime never saw the field. Hull appears set to be the RB2 so long as Kamara remains out, but his production probably won't serve much purpose in terms of fantasy value. New Orleans will next play versus Tampa Bay on Sunday.

  • Evan Hull: Signs with New Orleans

Hull signed with the Saints' practice squad Wednesday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports. The 25-year-old running back was a fifth-round pick in the 2023 Draft by the Colts but has appeared in just two career regular-season contests. With Kendre Miller (knee) done for the season, Hull provides the Saints organizational depth.

  • Evan Hull: Returns to practice squad

The Colts re-signed Hull to the practice squad Tuesday. Hull continues to bounce on and off Indianapolis' practice squad, after his spot on the 53-man roster was taken by the activation of DeForest Buckner from IR. The second-year pro has only played one offensive snap this season, Week 7 against Miami.

  • Evan Hull: Waived by Indy

The Colts waived Hull on Saturday. Hull was waived to make room for star defensive tackle DeForest Buckner on the 53-man roster. A 2023 fifth-round pick, Hull has spent time this season bouncing between the practice squad and active roster. It won't be surprising if he resurfaces with the Colts in some capacity, assuming Hull clears waivers.

  • Colts' Evan Hull: Signs with Indy

Hull was signed to the active roster by the Colts on Saturday. With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) out another week, Hull was always going to be on the roster in some capacity come Sunday. The 2023 fifth-round pick didn't play any snaps last week in the loss to Jacksonville, but Hull does represent quality depth behind the likes of Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson.

  • Evan Hull: Returns to practice squad

Hull reverted to the Colts' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log. Hull was elevated to the active roster ahead of Sunday's 37-34 loss to the Jaguars, failing appear in the game. If Jonathan Taylor (ankle) remains unavailable in Week 6 versus the Titans, Hull may be elevated again.

  • Evan Hull: Lands on practice squad

The Colts signed Hull to the practice squad Wednesday. Hull, a 2023 fifth-round pick, was unable to make the Colts' 53-man roster Tuesday, but he'll end up stick around with the Indianapolis organization after clearing waivers. As a rookie, Hull suited up for just one game before going down with a knee injury, but he's familiar with the Colts' offensive scheme and will likely be on the short list for a promotion to the active roster should the team suffer any backfield attrition. At least to open the regular season, however, Trey Sermon (hamstring) and Tyler Goodson will work as the top backups to Jonathan Taylor.

  • Evan Hull: Jettisoned by Indianapolis

The Colts waived Hull on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Hull spent the preseason competing for a reserve role behind starter Jonathan Taylor, but it appears that Indianapolis is more comfortable with both Trey Sermon (hamstring) and Tyler Goodson as depth options. As a rookie last season Hull was only able to play one game with the Colts before going down with a knee injury. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, the team may opt to bring Hull back via the practice squad.

  • Colts' Evan Hull: Gains 31 yards on five touches

Hull had four carries for 26 yards and caught his only target for five yards in Saturday's preseason win over Arizona. Hull was the second player to receive a carry for Indianapolis behind Tyler Goodson (6-35-1) despite taking reps ahead of his backfield mate during practice this week. Projected No. 2 back Trey Sermon remains sidelined with the hamstring injury he suffered in the Colts' preseason opener, upgrading the battle for third on the depth chart to a competition to be Jonathan Taylor's primary backup. Hull, Goodson and possibly Zavier Scott (11-55-1) will continue to compete for potentially more than one spot on the roster (pending the team's update on Sermon's health) as we head into the final week of the exhibition schedule.

  • Colts' Evan Hull: Working as No. 2 running back

Hull took the majority of No. 2 running back snaps during Wednesday's practice with Trey Sermon (hamstring) sidelined, Paul Bretl of USA Today reports. Hull has a chance to build some momentum at training camp after an impressive showing in Indianapolis' preseason opener, the same game in which Sermon departed early due to a hamstring injury. Thus far Sermon had worked as the clear No. 2 man behind Jonathan Taylor, but Wednesday's practice seems like an indication that Hull, one of the better pass-catchers in the Colts' backfield, could be favored for the No. 3 gig over Tyler Goodson.

  • Colts' Evan Hull: Healthy and vying for backup role

Hull (knee) appears set to compete with Trey Sermon for the backup role behind starter Jonathan Taylor this offseason, James Boyd of The Athletic reports. Hull is back to full health after a knee injury limited him to just one appearance as a rookie in 2023, per Paul Bretl of USA Today. After Zack Moss was able to thrive as the backup to Taylor in 2023, fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on which of Hull and Sermon managers to show out better in training camp and preseason action. Sermon could have a leg up to begin the competition, but as Boyd notes, he's totaled just 78 carries in his career and isn't significantly more established than Hull.

  • Colts' Evan Hull: Expected to return this season

Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Friday that he expects Hull (knee) to play again this season, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports. The rookie fifth-round pick suffered a knee injury in his NFL debut last week against the Jaguars, finishing the game with one carry for one yard and one catch for six yards across eight offensive snaps. After being placed on injured reserve earlier this week, Hull will be required to miss at least the next four contests.

  • Colts' Evan Hull: Looks set to be part of RB mix

Hull looks set to be in the backfield mix for Week 1 with Jonathan Taylor (ankle) placed on the reserve/PUP list, Dianna Russini and James Boyd of The Athletic report. How playing time in the Indy backfield will be divided up is unclear with Taylor out at least four weeks, but Hull looks set to get significant snaps. The 2023 fifth-round pick got the start in the preseason opener but was used behind Deon Jackson in the final two preseason games. Zack Moss could also return from a broken arm by Week 1 and would be the likely starter if he's healthy, although all three backs could share playing time in a committee. It's even possible that Hull could be the lead back, though his best path to snaps will come on third downs and in passing situations given his receiving ability.

  • Colts' Evan Hull: Outplays Jackson

Hull took six carries for 25 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 27-13 preseason win over the Eagles. Deon Jackson got the start but rotated evenly with Hull throughout the first half as the first-team offense produced 17 points on six drives. Hull's score came from one yard out on the third series, not long after Jackson had a touchdown from three yards out. Both are candidates for significant roles Week 1 against Jacksonville, as Jonathan Taylor is seeking a trade and Zack Moss still recovering from a broken arm. The Colts do still have time to look at free agents or perhaps acquire an upgrade after other teams make cuts.

  • Colts' Evan Hull: Underwhelming second preseason game

Hull had four carries for 13 yards and lost a yard on his lone reception in Saturday's preseason win over Chicago. Neither Hull nor Deon Jackson were overly impressive after strong first preseason games, but both worked with the second-team offensive line as all starters on offense were rested. With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Zack Moss (arm) sidelined, Hull could have a large role to begin the regular season. He could still be in competition for a third-down role even when Taylor returns, as the Northwestern product was an outstanding receiver out of the backfield with the Wildcats (55 receptions in 2022) .
