| Wells undergoes surgery: Cardinals RB Beanie Wells said on Twitter on Tuesday he is undergoing surgery, which is expected to be on his troublesome knee. Wells wrote "time to go under the knife" on Tuesday morning, but he did not specify the nature of his operation. Wells played most of the season with a lingering knee injury, and he only missed Week 3 and Week 17, which was a meaningless game for the Cardinals. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said following Week 17 that Wells played most of the year on "one leg." (Updated 01/24/2012) |

| Despite the knee problem, Wells played well in 2011. He ran for 1,047 yards and 10 touchdowns through 14 games. He also caught 10 passes for 52 yards. We hope the surgery isn't serious, and Wells is expected to be fine for the start of 2012. He should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy RB heading into the season, and hopefully he can hold off Ryan Williams for the starting job all year. Williams (knee) missed his rookie campaign, but he will likely compete with Wells for carries next season. (Updated 01/24/2012). |
