Ravens unlikely to make legit bid on James Ihedigbo
by Larry Hartstein |

Ravens strong safety James Ihedigbo, an impending free agent, is coming off a breakout season but is unlikely to get a significant bid from Baltimore, reports the Baltimore Sun. That's because the Ravens plan to move Matt Elam from free safety to strong safety.

Ihedigbo, 30, set career highs with 100 tackles, 11 passes defensed, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries last year. The paper says Ihedigbo is already creating a buzz one month before free agency.

James Ihedigbo: Terrell Suggs might be fit in Cleveland
by Marty Gitlin |

Ravens safety James Ihedigbo has speculated that teammate Terrell Suggs could reunite with fellow outside linebacker Paul Kruger with the Browns next season.

Suggs' contract expires after next season. He is due to earn $7.8 million in 2014 and would represent a $12.4 million cap hit for his team. His performance down the stretch this season is a concern, leading to speculation that he could be cut to save the team money.

Ihedigbo believes defensive-minded Browns coach Mike Pettine, who served as a Ravens defensive coach from 2002 to 2008, will seek to snap up Suggs.

"You gotta think Mike Pettine got the head-coaching job in Cleveland," he told the team website "Are they going to come in and try to get Terrell Suggs, and put him right opposite Paul Kruger like he was before?"

The Browns are still looking to ramp up their outside pass rush. Kruger and rookie Barkevious Mingo proved disappointing in 2013. But Suggs also struggled, managing just two sacks in the last eight games after posting eight in the first eight games.

Ravens unlikely to try to keep free agent James Ihedigbo
by Marty Gitlin |

The Ravens are on the verge of allowing strong safety James Ihedigbo to walk in free agency, the Baltimore Sun has speculated.

General manager Ozzie Newsome has prioritized the acquisition of a starting free safety this offseason. If he lands one, Matt Elam would then move from that position to strong safety, where he is more experienced and comfortable.
