| Doctors will clear Lions' Best: Lions running back Jahvid Best will be cleared to participate in his first football-related activity since Week 6 of the 2011 season when Detroit holds a minicamp in June. Best missed the last 10 games of last season after suffering two concussions between August and October. "(Best's) doctors felt like it just made sense to (clear him for football activities) in June," general manager Martin Mayhew told WJR-AM. "It gives him the most time (to prepare for training camp)." | Best is currently participating in non-football portions of Detroit's offseason program. While his increased activity is a positive sign, it will be difficult to truly gauge Best's health until he participates in contact drills during training camp. The Lions have no reason to rush Best back on the field as they have Mikel Leshoure coming back from his injury and can utilize both backs as well as Kevin Smith, who re-signed. Because a concussion might knock out his season at any time, Best has to be considered a low-end No. 3 Fantasy rusher worth a middle- to late-round pick in standard leagues and a mid-round selection in PPR formats.
