| Hernandez’s big day not enough: With fellow TE Rob Gronkowski limited with an ankle injury, the Patriots needed Aaron Hernandez to step up in the Super Bowl. Hernandez did his piece for the most part, as he led the team with eight catches and 67 yards and a third-quarter touchdown that put the team up by two scores. However he did have a costly drop on the final drive of the game, as the Patriots tried to come back from four-point deficit. They would wind up losing 21-17, as a Hail Mary attempt in the final seconds intended for Hernandez was batted down in the end zone. (Updated 02/05/2012) |

| Hernandez finished the postseason with two touchdown catches as the Patriots’ number three option in the passing game. That comes after a regular season that saw him bring in 79 catches for 910 yards and seven touchdowns, numbers that would normally rank among the best at the tight end position, even if he was overshadowed by his teammate Gronkowski. Despite the fact that he’s not even the most valuable on his own roster, Fantasy owners should still look at Hernandez as a No. 1 Fantasy tight end for the 2012 season.
