Chiefs RB Knile Davis claims talent equal to that of Charles
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com

Chiefs running back Knile Davis might be lacking in logic, but not in confidence. And one should not expect him to be accepting of the notion that his team can't afford to rest star backfield mate Jamaal Charles once the regular season rolls around.

Davis has claimed to be every bit the talent. "I don't feel like there's a gap," he told ESPN.com.

Never mind that Charles has averaged 5.5 yards per carry over seven seasons and that Davis has managed 3.5 YPC in 205 career attempts. The latter is at least realistic about his current status.

"He's the starter. It's his time. I'm waiting (until) my time," Davis said. He added that he does not doubt Charles can fulfull his goal to play another six seasons.

Knile Davis benefits from Jamaal Charles' timing
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

Rest assured, Jamaal Charles owners, there's no running back controversy in Kansas City.

The box score for Week 15 against Oakland may suggest otherwise. Charles led the Chiefs with 12 carries for 52 yards, sure, but backup Knile Davis scored both the touchdowns out of the backfield, plunging in from 3 yards out midway through the third quarter and then scoring on a 70-yard catch-and-run a couple drives later.

But it was all a matter of timing. Davis' touchdown run came after Charles took a hard hit the play before and had to be tested for a concussion. Charles returned for the team's next drive, but the Chiefs went up three scores then, putting the game out of reach. It only made sense to bring in the backup running back, who then broke a long one when a defender stumbled.

Davis wasn't even effective with his nine carries, five of which came in the fourth quarter. He gained a total of 11 yards. His value to Fantasy owners remains as a handcuff to Charles. You wouldn't want to start him on his own merits Week 16 at Pittsburgh.

Chiefs RB Knile Davis scores twice vs. Raiders Week 15
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Chiefs running back Knile Davis managed just 11 yards on nine carries but also scored a three-yard rushing touchdown and added a 70-yard receiving touchdown in his team's 31-13 win over the Raiders in Week 15.

Davis scored both of his touchdowns in the third quarter, first coming on in relief of Jamaal Charles in the team's only trip inside the Raiders' five-yard line and scoring on first down. He then caught a short pass on third-and-10 and found no defenders ahead of him, outracing the defense for a 70-yard score, which doubled as the longest play of his career. Davis and the Chiefs will square off with the Steelers in Week 16.
