Raiders' Maurice Jones-Drew limited Week 7
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Raiders running back Maurice Jones-Drew was limited to just three carries Week 7.

Jones-Drew again took a backseat to Darren McFadden as the team's primary runner. Jones-Drew gained just 6 yards. He was not a factor in the passing game. Jones-Drew will look for more Week 8 against the Browns.

Does Darren McFadden matter again?
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

Darren McFadden's performance Week 6 against San Diego was notable. Not only did he again stave off Maurice Jones-Drew, who played only 25 percent of the snaps in his second game back from minor hand surgery and carried only four times, but McFadden also ran for a season-high 80 yards against a defense that ranks ninth against the run.

McFadden hasn't exactly been a workhorse for the Raiders, but for the season he's averaging 3.9 yards per carry. He has been good enough to keep getting chances.

So does he deserve a second chance (or third or fourth) in Fantasy? That might be going a bit far. Given McFadden's injury history, the Raiders may never trust him to carry a full load and may gradually increase Jones-Drew's carries as he works his way back into form. Also, a big reason McFadden didn't get more carries in Jones-Drew's absence is because the 0-5 Raiders were so often playing from behind. That doesn't figure to change.

McFadden deserves to be owned in Fantasy because the opportunity is there for him to exceed expectations, but as things stand now, you probably shouldn't start him except as a bye-week replacement.

Raiders' Maurice Jones-Drew racks up 40 yards of total offense
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Raiders running back Maurice Jones-Drew showed a bit of life in a limited effort Sunday at home against the Chargers in Week 6.

Darren McFadden got the start over Jones-Drew on Sunday and looked impressive. However, Jones-Drew surged with runs of 9 and 7 yards to go along with a 10-yard reception on the final drive of the first half. He only had one handoff after halftime. Jones-Drew rushed for 30 yards on four carries, averaging 7.5 yards per attempt. He caught his lone target for 10 yards.

Jones-Drew will look for a bigger workload in Week 7 at home against Arizona.

Can anything be salvaged in Raiders' backfield?
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

The Raiders backfield duo of Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew has produced just 27 Fantasy points over four games, falling well short of even our most pessimistic expectations so far. Is there any upside moving forward?

McFadden has taken the lead with Jones-Drew slowed by injury, but has done little to inspire confidence, rushing for just 3.4 yards per carry on 45 attempts. With a full bye week to recover, there is reason to think Jones-Drew will take on a heavier load in Week 6 against the Chargers, but you will probably want to steer clear of both this week.

The Chargers are allowing 15.8 Fantasy points per game to opposing running backs, the 13th-lowest total in the league. However, they have allowed just 18 points total to the last two backfields they faced, with both the Jaguars and Jets featuring similarly underwhelming options in the running game.

Both McFadden and Jones-Drew have been productive players in the past, but it is hard to see them turning back the lock this Sunday. Consider neither player more than a flex option.

Maurice Jones-Drew eased back into action over the pond
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Raiders running back Maurice Jones-Drew did not get the start and eased back into action in Week 4 against the Dolphins in London. Jones-Drew, who made his first appearance back from a minor hand surgery, was limited to just one carry for a gain of 1 yard in the first half. He caught all two of the passes thrown his way for 2 yards in a 38-14 defeat.

The Raiders have a bye week before hosting the Chargers in Week 6. Jones-Drew could be healthy enough to receive the starting nod by then.
