Report: Chiefs OLB Tamba Hali agrees to restructured deal
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com

The Chiefs have restructured outside linebacker Tamba Hali's contract, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan.

Though the terms are unknown at this time, the Chiefs will be alleviating some cap space with this deal. Hali was set to enter the 2015 season with a near $12 million cap figure. Hali finished the 2014 season with 59 tackles and six sacks.

Tamba Hali: 'I'm optimistic I'll still be' with the Chiefs next year
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Tamba Hali told ESPN on Friday that he remains optimistic about staying with the Chiefs next season.

"It's not about the numbers for me," Hali said. "It's about whether the situation makes sense for them because I want to be there and play for the Chiefs. The general manager [John Dorsey] and coach [Andy] Reid, they know I want to be there. That's why I say it's a matter of how I fit into what the Chiefs want to do for the season.

"They're talking numbers so I'm optimistic I'll still be there."

The 31-year-old linebacker totaled 59 tackles including six sacks and three forced fumbles in 16 games. It was his lowest sack total since 2008. He will count approximately $12 million against Kansas City's salary cap next year if he remains with the club.

Tamba Hali says he wants to be back in Kansas City in 2015
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com

Outside linebacker Tamba Hali once again expressed an interest in returning to the only team he's ever played for in the Chiefs.

"At this stage of my career, it isn’t about money," Hali said. "The Kansas City Chiefs have taken care of me, financially. I have some good people in my corner that have positioned me to be able to live a lifestyle a lot of people won’t be able to live. So I’m not one of those guys who gets all bent out of shape over money. I love playing the game, I want to win a championship in Kansas City."

Hali totaled 59 tackles including six sacks and three forced fumbles in 16 games. It was his lowest sack total since 2008.

"If money is going to be a hindrance in doing that, we’ll find a way … we’ve got to get Justin (Houston) paid and get our guys, Dee Ford, ready to be playing at a higher level … but we’ve got to get Houston paid, I’m optimistic about that … that’s something we’ve got to get done."

Report: Chiefs could part ways with OLB Tamba Hali
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Chiefs outside linebacker Tamba Hali, a four-time Pro Bowler, realizes he might have played his last game for the team, reports the Kansas City Star. The nine-year vet is set to cost nearly $12 million against the cap next year, and the Chiefs want to give Dee Ford the chance to start opposite elite pass rusher Justin Houston, the report said.

“I’ve been here nine years ... I don’t know what’s going to happen next year,” Hali, 31, told the paper. “I’d love to be here. But again, I can’t really worry about it. I’m a football player and I love playing the game, so if they want me here, I’ll still be here (playing) at a high level.”

Hali played all 16 games this season and recorded six sacks, the second-lowest total of his career, to go with 59 tackles and three forced fumbles. He ranks third in Chiefs' history with 79.5 career sacks.
