Chargers QB Philip Rivers throws for 365 yards in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers completed 35 of 48 passes for 365 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the defeat to Pittsburgh on Monday night.

Rivers hooked up with long-time favorite target Antonio Gates on both his scoring strikes, but otherwise distributed his targets incredibly well. He completed at least five passes to five different players, helping him set a season-high with 35 completions. Similarly, his whopping 365 yards marked the third time he's topped 350 yards in a game already this season.

Although his lone interception was a pick-six, Rivers was still plenty productive and continues to rack up yardage in a pass-heavy offense.

Chargers QB Philip Rivers throws 358 yards and three TDs in Week 4 win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers completed 23 of 38 passes for 358 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Cleveland Browns .

Rivers was strong throughout, even without Stevie Johnson (hamstring) and Malcom Floyd (concussion), who both left due the game due to injuries. The veteran QB helped lead San Diego on a nice drive in the final two minutes of regulation, completing both of his pass attempts for 25 yards, setting up Josh Lambo for the game-winning field goal. Rivers and the Chargers will be at home against a beatable Pittsburgh Steelers ' secondary in Week 5.

Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers completed 21 of 34 passes for 246 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's game against the Vikings. He also lost a fumble in the 31-14 defeat.

The turnovers were critical against the Minnesota defense, as Rivers threw an interception that was returned 91 yards for a score and fumbled to set the Vikings up in the red zone.

The Chargers have now lost back-to-back road games after a win in the opener, and the veteran signal caller has already turned the ball over six times this season. Rivers and company will look to get back on track when they host the Browns in Week 4.

Chargers QB Philip Rivers makes history, but struggles Sunday
by Rotowire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Chargers veteran quarterback Philip Rivers completed 21 of 37 passes for 241 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a Sunday loss to host Cincinnati.

Rivers came two completions short of matching the NFL record for consecutive completions and broke Dan Fouts' franchise record for touchdown throws. But aside from his dates with history, Rivers was contained by the Bengals' defense, turning the ball over twice and taking four sacks.

His relative struggles could be attributed, in part, to his failure to establish his usual rapport with Keenan Allen, who only totaled two receptions for 16 yards. He did, however, find Stevie Johnson and Malcom Floyd for scoring strikes in the second half.

Rivers will be up against a fairly similar defense next week, as the Chargers travel to visit the Vikings, coached by former Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.

Chargers QB Philip Rivers throws two TD passes in Week 1 win
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers was on his game for Sunday's season opener against the Lions. Rivers completed 35 of 42 attempts for a total of 404 yards. He threw two touchdowns and two interceptions in the 33-28 comeback win.

With his team down 21-13 in the third quarter, Rivers connected with Steve Johnson on a 12-yard pass for his first touchdown of the game. In the fourth quarter, Rivers found Ladarius Green with a 13-yard pass to give the Chargers their first lead of the game, and they would hang on for the victory.

The Chargers will travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals in Week 2.
