Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jeremy Mincey (concussion) is active for Sunday's game in New Orleans Privateers , the Cowboys' official website reports.
Mincey's return from a one-week absence should help a Dallas defense that struggled badly against the Atlanta Falcons last week, but a Sunday night game at the Superdome may still prove rather difficult. With just 40 tackles and six sacks in 18 games since the beginning of last season, Mincey does not warrant IDP consideration.
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jeremy Mincey (concussion) is probable for the Week 4 clash in New Orleans.
Mincey will seemingly miss just one game, and he figures to jump right back in as a starter. The Cowboys struggled in his absence last week, getting steamrolled by the Atlanta offense.
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jeremy Mincey (concussion) returned to practice Wednesday, DallasCowboys.com reports.
The beat-up Cowboys could use him back after their defense collapsed in the second half of last week's loss to the Falcons. Mincey should return to his starting right defensive end spot barring a setback, but he'll only hold the job for one more week, as Greg Hardy will be serving the final game of his suspension.
A concussion has prompted Dallas to rule out Mincey, who joins Greg Hardy (suspension) and Randy Gregory (ankle) as unavailable.
It remains unclear when Mincey sustained the head injury. He wasn't listed on the injury report to begin the week and participated in practice Wednesday. But he told the training staff after the session that he did not feel well. He was limited Thursday and appeared on the injury report Friday.
Mincey is currently holding out of training camp as he awaits a new deal. Mincey produced six sacks and 36 tackles in 16 games last season.
Before Sunday's practice, coach Jason Garrett said he expects Mincey to participate in the practice, reports the Star-Telegram.
"It's good to have him here," Garrett said. "It was a good conversation [he had with Mincey]. We'll see how he's doing... But excited to have him here in training camp."
