  • Senators' Tommy Wingels: Back in lineup Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/21/17) Wingels (undisclosed) will return to action against the Devils on Tuesday, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Wingels was one of several banged up Senators who were injured Feb. 19 against the Jets, but the 28-year-old appears to be the only one who won't miss some game time. Since joining Ottawa, the winger has managed just a lone goal in 11 outings, but could take an a bigger role with Bobby Ryan (finger), Mark Stone (neck), and Mike Hoffman (lower body) all out of the lineup.

Senators' Tommy Wingels: Goes on road trip

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/20/17) Wingels (undisclosed) has joined the team for its upcoming four-game road trip beginning Tuesday in New Jersey, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Wingels exited Sunday's game against the Devils early due to the injury, but his presence on the road trip at least provides a positive outlook moving forward. The team should update his status again on Tuesday, providing a bit more clarity on his availability moving forward. If he and one or more of the trio of injured players in Sunday's contest end up skipping the affair, it could force Ottawa to make some roster moves ahead of Tuesday's game.

Senators' Tommy Wingels: Suffers injury Sunday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/20/17) Wingels exited Sunday's game due to an undisclosed injury, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Wingels exited the bench during Sunday's contest, and the injury has carried past Sunday's contest. The veteran winger can return to action as soon as Tuesday against the Devils, but it appears that's not a given at this point. The club lost Mark Stone and Mike Hoffman to injuries Sunday and also announced prior to the contest that Bobby Ryan (finger) would likely miss extended time, leaving the club extremely shorthanded. If the trio all end up missing Tuesday's game, expect multiple new names in the lineup Tuesday.

Senators' Tommy Wingels: Expected to debut Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/24/17) Wingels is expected to skate with his new teammates Wednesday, and suit up Thursday against the Flames, Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch reports.

Hopefully a change of scenery will do Wingels good, although he has just two goals and four points with a minus-2 in 20 games against Eastern Conference teams in this season. Perhaps he'll go out and try to endear himself to his new teammates with a ton of hits, something which has been lacking from his game during the current campaign as opposed to years past.

Senators' Tommy Wingels: Acquired from Sharks

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/24/17) Wingels was brought in via trade from San Jose on Tuesday in exchange for minors leaguers Buddy Robinson, Zack Stortini, and a 2017 seventh round pick.

Wingels has underperformed so far this year -- eight points in 37 contests -- and will likely benefit from the change of scenery. The Senators are clearly hoping they get the player who logged 16 goals and 22 helpers during the 2013-14 campaign. The 28-year-old is not expected to arrive in Ottawa until Wednesday, so the earliest he could suit up for his new team would be Thursday against the Flames.
