  • Ducks' Antoine Vermette: Inks deal with Ducks

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/15/16) Vermette signed a two-year deal with the Ducks on Monday.

Vermette was bought out of his contract with Arizona earlier in the offseason, but has secured a new home in Anaheim. Despite being 34 years old, the center still pit together a solid 2015-16 campaign as he notched 17 goals and 21 helpers. The Quebec native stands a good chance of being a member of the Ducks power play considering he averaged almost three minutes of ice time per game with the man advantage with the Yotes while tallying 16 points. Vermette's production may start to drop off, but he could add some significant late-round value in deeper drafts.

Antoine Vermette: Drawing interest on open market

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/13/16) Vermette has contract offers from five NHL teams with a decision to be made Monday, agent Allan Walsh reports.

Vermette had his contract bought out by the Coyotes earlier this month in an effort to save the club $2.5 million in the upcoming season -- that made him an unrestricted free agent. Given that he's a proven offensive contributor who's won a Stanley Cup, having done so with the Blackhawks in 2015, it's no surprise that Vermette is getting bites on the open market. It's not clear which teams are lobbying for the veteran, but it sounds like that announcement is imminent.

Coyotes' Antoine Vermette: Opens up scoring in first period

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/7/16) Vermette lit the lamp on his only shot in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators.

Vermette has found twine in two of the last three after going scoreless in eight straight. The 33-year-old doesn't take many shots, but he's been decently efficient with them, scoring slightly over a 13 percent clip. The first-line center's real threat remains on the power play, where he's notched 16 of his 38 points this year.

Coyotes' Antoine Vermette: Notches two points in win over Flames

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/12/16) Vermette scored his 12th goal of the season and had an assist in Friday's win over the Flames.

While Vermette hit the 30-point mark in the victory, he's been steadily racking up PIM of late and has helped fantasy owners with 60 PIM on the season. The first-line center is a decent fantasy option in deeper formats, but he's too inconsistent to be trusted in shallower leagues.

Coyotes' Antoine Vermette: Four-point night helps end losing skid

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/6/16) Vermette tallied his 11th goal of the season and had three assists in Saturday's win over Florida.

The top line put on quite the display Saturday, as Vermette, newcomer Alex Tanguay and Anthony Duclair combined for nine points in the victory. Vermette only has 28 points in 59 games for the struggling Coyotes, but the addition of veteran scorer Tanguay could be just what he needs. Vermette, who plays on the power play, is worth owning in some deep leagues, but he's been too inconsistent to be trusted in shallower formats.

It's been nearly a month since the Chicago Blackhawks lost star winger Patrick Kane to injury and the team hasn't stopped winning. They can thank their all-star level depth and great goaltending for that.

March 13, 2015: Richards, Shaw lift Blackhawks over Coyotes 2-1
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Two months without a goal weighed heavily on Brad Richards, but when the veteran Chicago Blackhawks forward finally found the net, he also reached an impressive milestone.
