  • Ducks' Antoine Vermette: Dishes two helpers Wednesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/5/17) Vermette collected a pair of assists in a 2-0 shutout of Detroit on Wednesday.

The veteran is now up to a respectable 18 points in 40 games this season, which is right in line with last year's 38-point output with Arizona. Vermette's 22 PIM and 54 shots on goal are well off the pace of 2015-16 (93 and 123, respectively), though, so its possible there are owners in deeper leagues frustrated with his downtick in cross-category production.

Ducks' Antoine Vermette: Gets it done on power play Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/30/16) Vermette notched two power-play points -- a goal and an assist -- in Thursday's 3-1 win over Calgary.

He's found the scoresheet in three consecutive games, representing a major improvement over the 15-game stretch prior, in which Vermette notched just three points. The goal came on the veteran's lone shot on net -- his first in four games. Vermette hasn't taken more than one shot on net since Dec. 11, and he hasn't taken more than two since Nov. 26. That unreliable offensive involvement does a lot of damage to his already marginal fantasy value.

Ducks' Antoine Vermette: Records sixth goal of 2016-17

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/12/16) Vermette scored for the second straight game and added an assist in the 5-1 victory over the Senators.

Anaheim recorded three of its five goals on the power play, including Vermette's goal in the final minute of the first period. After not scoring for more than three weeks, Vermette tallied a goal in back-to-back games and posted his first multi-point night since Nov. 4. He has six goals and 12 points in 29 games.

Ducks' Antoine Vermette: Gets on scoresheet Friday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/10/16) Vermette picked up his fifth goal of the season Friday night in a 3-2 win over the Sharks.

Formerly with the Coyotes, Vermette has played every game so far and finds himself on pace for a 30-point season. The veteran pivot is not flashy but he's a proven scorer used on the power play -- 1:48 in that situation this campaign.

Ducks' Antoine Vermette: Posts another multi-point game

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/5/16) Vermette scored a goal and added an assist during Friday's win over the Coyotes.

Over his past three games, Vermette has posted two multi-point showings with two goals and two helpers, and he's up to seven points -- two tallies -- over his past eight outings. However, Vermette is a low-volume shooter (15 shots over 12 games), and his offensive role will diminish once Ryan Getzlaf (upper body) returns to the lineup. Vermette's fleeting uptick in fantasy value is best utilized in daily contests until Getzlaf is healthy.

It's been nearly a month since the Chicago Blackhawks lost star winger Patrick Kane to injury and the team hasn't stopped winning. They can thank their all-star level depth and great goaltending for that.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Two months without a goal weighed heavily on Brad Richards, but when the veteran Chicago Blackhawks forward finally found the net, he also reached an impressive milestone.
