Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Set to play Thursday
Monahan (undisclosed) will play in Thursday's game against the Red Wings, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
Monahan exited Monday's win over New Jersey due to an undisclosed injury, but he'll be able to suit up a few days later. He hasn't yet missed a game this season, and he's recorded five goals, eight assists, 17 hits, eight PIM and six blocked shots while averaging 18:31 of ice time over 26 appearances.

Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Gets starting nod Thursday
Merzlikins will be between the pipes at home versus Detroit on Thursday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Merzlikins will make consecutive appearances in the crease for the first time this season, having allowed three goals on 33 shots in a win over New Jersey on Monday. In 10 outings this year, the 31-year-old Latvian is sporting a 5-5-0 record, 3.50 GAA and .895 save percentage. Fantasy managers can expect Merrzlikins and Jet Greaves to split the upcoming back-to-back versus Florida and Washington on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Playing against Wings
Marchenko (knee) will be in the lineup versus Detroit on Thursday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
Marchenko will return to action after a four-game stint on the sidelines due to his knee problem. While the Russian winger was mired in an eight-game goal drought prior to getting hurt, he did generate six helpers and 14 shots over that stretch. A clash with a Red Wings squad that is giving up 3.41 goals per game could be what Marchenko needs to get back into the goal column.

Blue Jackets' Luca Pinelli: Returned to AHL
Pinelli was reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Thursday.
The 20-year-old made his NHL debut Nov. 26 against Toronto and has played three games with the Blue Jackets, picking up two shots on goal in each contest. Pinelli had five goals and five assists in 13 AHL games before his promotion.

Lundestrom looked to be at risk of heading to the press box regularly in early November after one scratch, but the Blue Jackets have had enough injuries lately to keep him active. He saw a season-high 16:28 of ice time Monday and snapped a 15-game point drought with the helper. On the year, the 26-year-old defensive forward has three assists, 18 shots on net, 13 blocked shots, 10 hits and a minus-1 rating through 25 appearances. Fantasy managers can do better than that when looking on the waiver wire.

Mateychuk scored a power-play goal and blocked two shots in Monday's 5-3 win over the Devils.
Mateychuk has two goals and an assist over his last five games. This goal was his first career power-play point, though he hasn't seen consistent usage with the man advantage this season since Zach Werenski sees a lot of time in that role. Mateychuk is up to six goals, 10 points, 26 shots on net, 42 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 25 appearances. He's worth consideration in deeper fantasy formats based on what he's already done, and his offense could grow into something with more widespread appeal.

Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Two helpers in Monday's win
Werenski notched two assists in Monday's 5-3 win over New Jersey.
The All-Star blueliner has carried his late November surge into December. Werenski has gotten onto the scoresheet in nine of the last 10 games, producing five multi-point performances en route to five goals and 15 points. After erupting for a career-high 82 points (23 goals, 59 helpers) over 81 games in 2024-25, he's back on a point-a-game pace to begin 2025-26 with nine goals and 26 points in 26 contests.

Facing the team he made his NHL debut with back in 2015-16, Wood produced both his points in the third period as the Blue Jackets broke open a 2-2 tie. The veteran checking winger has been able to stay a bit healthier in 2025-26, suiting up for 20 of Columbus' first 26 games and delivering seven goals and 10 points with 36 shots on net, 22 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-4 rating.

The veteran center's tally early in the third period put the Blue Jackets in the lead for good after they'd fallen into an early 2-0 hole. Coyle was acquired from the Avs this offseason to fill a checking role, but he's been a surprising offensive contributor as well, and over the last 10 games, he's delivered two goals and nine points thanks to a pair of three-point performances.

Merzlikins made 30 saves in Monday's 5-3 win over the Devils.
The 31-year-old netminder went the entire month of November without collecting a win, going 0-4-0 in four starts with a rough 4.30 GAA and an .863 save percentage, and Merzlikins appeared to be headed for another poor outing when New Jersey struck twice in the first 3:03 of the first period. He kept his focus, however, and Merzlikins locked things down as Columbus rallied, allowing only a power-play tally to Timo Meier midway through the third for the remainder of the game. On the season, Merzlikins is 5-5-0 in 10 starts with a 3.50 GAA and an .895 save percentage as the No. 2 option for the Jackets behind Jet Greaves.
