Could the goal of the year have come on one of 2016's final days? Manchester United beat Sunderland 3-1 on Boxing Day, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan scoring the third. It came off a backheel scorpion strike from inside the box. Take a look.

What an unbelievable goal. Lots of luck in that, but credit to him for timing it perfectly. He was clearly offside, but it wasn't called. And now we have one of the best strikes of the year. Breathtaking.
