What’s at stake: A first-leg lead in this Round of 16 clash. The winner of the two-leg matchup will be decided on aggregate score with away goals being used as a tiebreaker.

Player to watch: Leverkusen’s Mexican striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez. From Oct. 15 till Jan. 22, he didn’t scored a goal. In the last three matches, he has five goals including two in each of his last two games, both of which saw him substituted off before the 70th minute. He also knows a thing or two about scoring against Atleti.

Form:

Leverkusen: WWLLW
Atletico: WWDWL

Last meeting: Atletico beat Bayer 1-0 on May 17, 2015 in the Champions League.

Odds:

Leverkusen 2/1 to win
21/10 to draw
Atletico 13/8 to win

Prediction: Leverkusen is quality at home but will be without start midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, while Atletico is down star defender Diego Godin. Since it is in Germany, a draw sounds fair. Expect a fast start from Leverkusen and for Atletico to respond. Leverkusen 1, Atletico 1.
