Brazilian soccer team using jersey to spread awareness on International Women's Day
The club is trying to make a statement with these jerseys
On International Women’s Day, Brazilian club Cruzeiro is highlighting some of the challenges women face. On Wednesday, the club will wear jerseys that use their numbers to show statistics of various things, such as the murder and rape rate of women in the South American nation.

The jersey says a woman is killed every two hours and that their salaries on average are 30 percent lower than that of men.

At first, I thought this was kind of a weird way to go about this. But, after taking some time to think about it, it is powerful. Fewer platforms are stronger in the world than that of soccer, so why not make a statement that way?
