The 10 nominees for FIFA Women's World Player of the Year were announced by FIFA on Thursday, and one USWNT star made the list.

Here are the 10 players of which three will be chosen for the shortlist on Dec. 2 and the winner announced on Jan. 9.

  • Christine Sinclair, Canada
  • Lotta Schelin, Sweden
  • Marta, Brazil
  • Dzsenifer Marozsan, Germany
  • Carli Lloyd, USA
  • Saki Kumagai, Japan
  • Amandine Henry, France
  • Sara Daebritz, Germany
  • Melanie Behringer, Germany
  • Camille Abily, France

Germany lands three players, while France gets two on the list. Brazil star Marta, who has a good shot to win, won the award every year from 2006 to 2010 and saw her shortlist streak of 11 years end last year.

Lloyd has 14 goals just in 2016 for the USWNT and is always a contender, but failing to make a deep run at the 2016 Summer Olympics may be enough for her to miss out on the shortlist.

Who is your favorite to win the award?
