Manchester City edges Manchester United as Iheanacho grabs winner

Pep Guardiola 1, Jose Mourinho 0. The Manchester Derby went to Manchester City on Saturday as Kelechi Iheanacho scored the winner in the first half in a 2-1 victory over rival Manchester United.

In the first matchup between Guardiola and Mourinho in England, City looked like the better team throughout and jumped to a 2-0 lead after 36 minutes. A goal late in the first half from Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave United life, but the visitors held on in the second to secure three points and win the battle of undefeated squads to remain first in the Premier League with 12 points and four wins from four.
It was Kevin De Bruyne who opened the scoring on 15 minutes with a silky finish, before he hit the post 21 minutes later with Iheanacho bagging a goal from close to make it 2-0.
Reeling, United got a goal late in the first half from Ibrahimovic to cut the lead in half, but offensive changes at the break did not result in more chances, as City escaped with the crucial victory.
