Lionel Messi won't be winning Best Player in Europe award on Thursday as he isn't a finalist, but he did get the UEFA Goal of the Season for 2015-16. The Barcelona superstar's Champions League stunner against Roma was voted the best goal on Thursday, with Ricardinho's futsal goal for Portugal coming in a distant third. Xherdan Shaqiri's magical goal at Euro 2016 for Switzerland was third. Here is that Messi goal that sealed it.
Messi received 73,331 votes, equaling out to 34 percent. Certainly deserving. Great team passing and a lovely, classy finish from the brilliant Blaugrana star.
