Mata scores winner as Manchester United eliminates City in EFL Cup
It was the red side of Manchester that came out on top on Wednesday
Manchester United eliminated rival Manchester City on Wednesday in the EFL Cup fourth round 1-0 on a Juan Mata goal in the second half.
Both teams had chances throughout the match to find the back of the net as they aimed to improve after poor runs of form entering the game, but it was United that actually managed to do so with Mata's low finish past Willy Caballero on 54 minutes.

With the result, United joins Liverpool, Hull, Leeds, Newcastle, Arsenal and West Ham in the quarterfinals. Man. City has now failed to win in its last six matches.
