Standings

POS. TEAM W D L GD. PTS
1. Mexico 2 1 0 3 7
2. Costa Rica 2 0 1 4 6
3. Panama 1 1 1 0 4
4. USMNT 1 0 2 1 3
5. Trinidad & Tobago 1 0 2 -3 3
6. Honduras 1 0 2 -5 3

What’s at stake: Three points in the standings and a chance for Mexico to secure more wins this WCQ cycle than the last cycle where it won just two games. A win here will keep at a least a four-point cushion from the bottom two. As for Trinidad and Tobago, this is not a must-win, but any result here would be welcomed as it looks to remain on contention.

Player to watch: Mexico’s Carlos Vela. The talented winger grabbed an assist in the 2-0 win over Costa Rica on Friday and is in fine form. He should have plenty of room to do damage in this one.

Odds:

T&T to win - 5/1
Draw - 11/4
Mexico to win - 8/15

Prediction: Mexico has been the best team so far in the region in qualifying and gets another big three points here. Mexico 3, Trinidad and Tobago 0.
