With the international break, most eyes have been on the battles between nations. Last week we had Mexico play the United States and Brazil host Argentina, and there's more action on Tuesday. However, club soccer is still going on while these international contests take place, and one of the biggest clashes was on Sunday night in the United States' second biggest league.

The NASL final between Indy Eleven and the New York Cosmos took place in New York, but 120 minutes couldn't decide it. The game went to penalty kicks after two scoreless hours, and the Cosmos did just enough. New York took a 3-1 lead in the shootout after Indy hit the post twice and won it 4-2, as Ryan Richter scored the winning penalty kick.

Take a look.

It's been a fantastic run for the Cosmos, as they have now won back-to-back crowns and three out of the last four, with former Venezuela international Juan Arango leading the way.

Overall, this is New York's eighth championship dating back to the old Cosmos teams that played in the original NASL from 1970-85 and had players such as Pele and Franz Beckenbauer. The original Cosmos won the league trophy five times.
