Police: Fake bomb at Manchester United's Old Trafford was a training device
Manchester United's match was pretty much called off because of something that wasn't a threat to anyone
Manchester United's Premier League match against Bournemouth on Sunday was called off due to a security concern, and it appears it was caused by a security blunder after a dummy device was accidentally left in Old Trafford toilet.
After a suspicious device was found inside the north end of Old Trafford, it was confirmed by police that the device was actually for training and not a threat to anyone.

From Manchester United:
Assistant Chief Constable John O'Hare from Greater Manchester Police said: "I am grateful to the Manchester United and Bournemouth supporters for their support and assistance today ... Following today's controlled explosion, we have since found out that the item was a training device which had accidentally been left by a private company following a training exercise involving explosive search dogs...Whilst this item did not turn out to be a viable explosive, on appearance this device was as real as could be, and the decision to evacuate the stadium was the right thing to do, until we could be sure that people were not at risk."
Better to be safe than sorry. Thankfully it was just a big scare with no threat.
The match against Bournemouth will be made up on Tuesday.
