WATCH: Chair umpire denies tennis player handshake after incessant complaining
There was no love lost between Yulia Putintseva and the umpire
Complaining to the umpire is part of tennis -- or any sport, for that matter.
The player screams at the umpire, the umpire bites back and we move on with the match. At the end we all shake hands and go our separate ways.
Or ... maybe not.
At the Citi Open Monday night in Washington, D.C., the world's No. 45 player Yulia Putintseva was absolutely fed up with the chair umpire in her match against Varvara Flink.
Luckily, our Twitter friend Matthew was there to document the whole thing (he affectionately refers to Putintseva as "Poots"):

Poots sends a ball 10 feet long to lose the game, then starts screaming "TOWEL TOWEL TOWEL!!" because it's not where she wants it to be 😢

"The ball was rightttttt on the line!" Poots is getting mad and I'm feeling unsafe. 👀🙈

YOU GUYS.

Ump: "you complain about every shot on the line."
P: "this is my last match with you."
Ump: "I hope so." pic.twitter.com/SS9JE61mn3
A player losing his or her cool is nothing new to the tennis world, but what happened afterward was something you don't see very often.
When Putintseva went to shake hands with the umpire after the match -- which she won, by the way -- the umpire was like, "Nah, I'm good."
NOT A DRILL. UMPIRE DENIED POOTS HANDSHAKE. @CitiOpenpic.twitter.com/H3RyjHeyS9

DENIED.
Putintseva didn't seem too upset with the insult, but let's hope these two don't meet again somewhere down the line.
