What to Know

The DePaul Blue Demons will be returning home after a three-game road trip. DePaul and the #21 Providence Friars will face off in a Big East battle at 3 p.m. ET Saturday at Wintrust Arena. The teams split their matchups last year, with the Friars winning the first 57-47 and DePaul taking the second 70-62.

It was close but no cigar for DePaul as they fell 63-59 to the Butler Bulldogs on Wednesday. Forward Brandon Johnson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, Providence didn't have too much breathing room in their game with the Seton Hall Pirates on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 70-65 victory. Forward Noah Horchler was the offensive standout of the contest for Providence, shooting 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and finishing with a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds along with three blocks.

Barring any buzzer beaters, the Blue Demons are expected to win a tight contest. They have been good against the spread at home while the Friars have been good against the spread on the road, so something will have to give.

DePaul beat Providence 70-62 when the two teams previously met in March of last year. DePaul's win shoved Providence out of the playoffs, so they have a target on their back.
