What to Know

The #8 Villanova Wildcats are 5-0 against the #21 Connecticut Huskies since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Villanova and the Huskies will face off in a Big East battle at 8 p.m. ET at XL Center. These two teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous games.

Villanova netted a 74-66 victory over the Georgetown Hoyas this past Saturday. Four players on Villanova scored in the double digits: guard Justin Moore (19), forward Brandon Slater (11), guard Caleb Daniels (10), and forward Eric Dixon (10).

Meanwhile, the Xavier Musketeers typically have all the answers at home, but this past Saturday UConn proved too difficult a challenge. UConn strolled past the Musketeers with points to spare, taking the contest 72-61. Guard R.J. Cole (16 points), forward Tyler Polley (16 points), and forward Adama Sanogo (15 points) were the top scorers for the Huskies. Polley had some trouble finding his footing against the Seton Hall Pirates last Wednesday, so this was a step in the right direction.

The Wildcats are expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the Marquette Golden Eagles Jan. 19 easily too and instead slipped up with a 57-54. In other words, don't count UConn out just yet.
