What to Know

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 2-6 against the Louisville Cardinals since February of 2016, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Saturday. Notre Dame is staying on the road to face off against U of L at 4 p.m. ET Jan. 22 at KFC Yum! Center.

The Fighting Irish came out on top in a nail-biter against the Howard Bison on Monday, sneaking past 71-68. The overall outcome was to be expected, but Howard made it more of a game than the oddsmakers had predicted. Notre Dame's success was spearheaded by the efforts of forward Nate Laszewski, who posted a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds, and guard Dane Goodwin, who had 17 points.

Meanwhile, U of L had enough points to win and then some against the Boston College Eagles on Wednesday, taking their contest 67-54. The top scorer for the Cardinals was forward Sydney Curry (13 points).

Their wins bumped the Fighting Irish to 11-6 and U of L to 11-7. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Notre Dame and U of L clash.
