Who's Playing

Richmond @ Rhode Island

Current Records: Richmond 12-7; Rhode Island 12-5

What to Know

The Richmond Spiders' road trip will continue as they head to Thomas M. Ryan Center at 6:30 p.m. ET Tuesday to face off against the Rhode Island Rams. The Spiders will be strutting in after a win while Rhode Island will be stumbling in from a loss.

Richmond beat the La Salle Explorers 64-56 this past Saturday. Richmond's forward Nathan Cayo looked sharp as he had 18 points.

Meanwhile, Rhode Island entered their contest against the George Washington Colonials this past Saturday without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. Rhode Island fell in a 63-61 heartbreaker. What made the defeat an especially bitter pill for them to swallow was that they had been favored by 15.5 points coming into the matchup. The losing side was boosted by center Makhel Mitchell, who had 11 points along with seven boards and six blocks. Mitchell has also now had at least four blocks in his past three games.

The Spiders were able to grind out a solid victory over the Rams when the two teams previously met in January of last year, winning 80-73. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richmond since the squad won't have home-court advantage. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
