Air Force vs. Boise State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Air Force vs. Boise State football game
The Boise State Broncos have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. The Broncos and the Air Force Falcons will face off in a Mountain West battle at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at Falcon Stadium. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty points totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet.
Boise State ran circles around the Fresno State Bulldogs two weeks ago, and the extra yardage (443 yards vs. 234 yards) paid off. Boise State captured a comfortable 40-20 victory. Their success was spearheaded by the efforts of RB Ashton Jeanty, who rushed for two TDs and 109 yards on 19 carries, and RB George Holani, who picked up 157 yards on the ground on 17 carries. This was the first time Jeanty has racked up 100+ rushing yards all year. Jeanty's sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
Special teams collected 16 points for the Broncos. K Jonah Dalmas delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.
Meanwhile, the UNLV Rebels typically have all the answers at home, but last week Air Force proved too difficult a challenge. Air Force steamrolled past UNLV 42-7 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7. RB Brad Roberts had a stellar game for the Falcons as he rushed for four TDs and 144 yards on 29 carries.
Air Force's defense was a presence as well, as it collected one interception and three fumbles. DB Jamari Bellamy picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
The Broncos are expected to lose this next one by 3. The smart bettors have been the ones to keep their money on Boise State's opponents whenever they hit the road.
The wins brought Boise State up to 4-2 and the Falcons to 5-2. A pair of defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Boise State comes into the game boasting the fewest passing yards allowed per game in the nation at 134.3. Air Force is not quite as good, but they are no chumps, either: they enter the matchup with only 155.9 passing yards allowed per game on average, good for fourth best in the nation.
