Colorado vs. Washington updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Colorado vs. Washington football game
After a two-game homestand, the Washington Huskies will be on the road. Washington and the Colorado Buffaloes will face off in a Pac-12 battle at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday at Folsom Field. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
The Huskies were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last week as they fell 35-30 to the Arizona State Sun Devils. Washington was up 14 to nothing at the end of the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead. No one had a standout game offensively for Washington, but they got scores from RB Kamari Pleasant, TE Devin Culp, and RB Cameron Davis.
Washington's defense was a presence, as it got past ASU's offensive line to sack QB Jayden Daniels four times for a total loss of 22 yards. Leading the way was LB Bralen Trice and his two sacks. Those were the first sacks for Trice this season.
Meanwhile, Colorado scored first but ultimately less than the UCLA Bruins in their matchup last week. Things couldn't have gone much worse for the Buffaloes as they lost 44-20. They were surely aware of their 18-point disadvantage in the point spread, but the foreknowledge did nothing to prevent the result. Their defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of RB Alex Fontenot, who punched in two rushing touchdowns, and RB Jarek Broussard, who picked up 108 yards on the ground on 16 carries.
The Huskies are the favorite in this one, with an expected 6.5-point margin of victory. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
Washington is now 4-6 while Colorado sits at 3-7. A couple defensive stats to keep an eye on: Washington is stumbling into the contest with the 204th most rushing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 203.9 on average. Colorado has experienced some rushing struggles of their own as they are 221st worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 21 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
