FIU vs. Liberty: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the FIU vs. Liberty football game
FIU will be in front of their home fans on Saturday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. They will take on the Liberty Flames at 6:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. FIU will be looking to extend their current 3-game winning streak.
Last Saturday, FIU earned a 24-17 win over UConn. That's two games straight that FIU have won by exactly seven points.
QB Keyone Jenkins looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 284 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 24 yards and one touchdown. WR Jalen Bracey was another key contributor, picking up 90 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Meanwhile, Liberty humbled Buffalo with a 55-27 smackdown. Liberty pushed the score to 41-21 by the end of the third, a deficit Buffalo had little chance of recovering from.
QB Kaidon Salter went supernova for Liberty, throwing for 344 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for 66 yards and one touchdown. Salter wound up with a passer rating of 236.1. WR Elijah Smoot was another key contributor, picking up 99 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Liberty and FIU pleased both fans and bettors in their last contests by winning and covering the spread. Looking ahead, Liberty are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 10.5 points. This contest will be their third straight as the favorites (a stretch that saw them go 3-0 against the spread).
Their wins bumped FIU to 3-1 and Liberty to 3-0. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when these two teams clash.
