Georgia State vs. James Madison updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Georgia State vs. James Madison football game
The James Madison Dukes will head out on the road to face off against the Georgia State Panthers at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Center Parc Stadium. James Madison is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Saturday, James Madison had just enough and edged Old Dominion out 30-27.
James Madison's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan McCloud, who threw for 340 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. James Madison also got help from Elijah Sarratt who showed off his sure hands for 139 receiving yards.
James Madison's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Jalen Green and his 2.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Georgia State, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-27 loss to Georgia Southern on Thursday.
Marcus Carroll put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Carroll hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Robert Lewis, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown.
James Madison's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.2 points per game. As for Georgia State, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
While only Georgia State took care of their fans the last time they played, neither team managed to cover. Going forward, James Madison is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. This contest will be their sixth straight as the favorites (so far over this stretch they are 4-1 against the spread).
James Madison skirted past Georgia State 42-40 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Madison since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
