Iowa vs. Nebraska Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Friday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Iowa vs. Nebraska football game
Game Recap
If the Nebraska Cornhuskers were expecting to get some payback for the 27-24 loss against the Iowa Hawkeyes when they previously met last November, then they were left disappointed. Friday, Nebraska was within a late touchdown of stealing the victory, but they took the "L" against Iowa 26-20. This makes it the second defeat in a row for the Cornhuskers.
No one had a standout game offensively for Iowa, but they got scores from WR Tyrone Tracy Jr. and RB Mekhi Sargent. Iowa also got a significant boost from RB Tyler Goodson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 111 yards.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed 14. K Keith Duncan delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.
Like Iowa, the Cornhuskers didn't have any clear offensive standouts, but they got one touchdown from QB Adrian Martinez.
Nebraska's overall record fell to 1-4. The win was the fourth in a row for the Hawkeyes and raised their record to 4-2.
Nebraska is staying on the road next week to face off against the Purdue Boilermakers at noon ET Dec. 5 at Ross-Ade Stadium. As for Iowa, they will go up against the Illinois Fighting Illini at 1 p.m. ET next week at Memorial Stadium.
