Louisville vs. Boston College updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisville vs. Boston College football game
The Louisville Cardinals and the Boston College Eagles are even-steven against one another since October of 2015 (3-3), but not for long. U of L's week off comes to an end as they meet up with the Eagles at 4 p.m. ET at Cardinal Stadium on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'
Two weeks ago, the Cardinals lost 34-33 to the Virginia Cavaliers. U of L was up 30-13 at the end of the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead. A silver lining for them was the play of RB Hassan Hall, who rushed for one TD and 162 yards on 14 carries. That touchdown -- a 52-yard rush in the third quarter -- was one of the highlights of the contest.
Special teams collected 15 points for U of L. K James Turner delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.
Meanwhile, BC's and the NC State Wolfpack's matchup last week was up for grabs at halftime, but BC was thoroughly outmatched 23 to nothing in the second half. The Eagles have to be aching after a bruising 33-7 loss to the Wolfpack. BC was down 31-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. No one had a standout game offensively for BC, but they got one touchdown from QB Dennis Grosel.
The Cardinals are the favorite in this one, with an expected 6-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread two weeks ago might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
The losses put U of L at 3-3 and BC at 4-2. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: U of L is 224th worst in the nation in passing yards allowed per game, with 299.5 on average. BC has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 136th fewest passing yards per game in the nation, having accrued only 213.8 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
