Minnesota vs. Maryland Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Minnesota vs. Maryland football game
The Maryland Terrapins have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. Maryland and the Minnesota Golden Gophers will face off in a Big Ten battle at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Huntington Bank Stadium. If the matchup is anything like the Terrapins' 45-44 win from their previous meeting in October of last year, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
Maryland was first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their game against the Ohio State Buckeyes two weeks ago. Maryland played a contest they are hoping to forget as they lost a 66-17 blowout to OSU. Maryland was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 35-10. QB Taulia Tagovailoa had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite two touchdowns, he threw two interceptions.
Meanwhile, the Nebraska Cornhuskers typically have all the answers at home, but last week Minnesota proved too difficult a challenge. The Golden Gophers beat the Cornhuskers 30-23. The team accrued 21 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory. Minnesota's RB Bryce Williams looked sharp as he rushed for one TD and 127 yards on 17 carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Williams has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season.
Maryland is expected to lose this next one by 5. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn't have high expectations for them since the team is 0-2 ATS when expected to lose.
The Terrapins and the Golden Gophers now sit at an identical 4-2. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Maryland is stumbling into the contest with the 190th most passing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 260.8 on average. Minnesota has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 208th worst in the nation in passing yards per game, with only 153.8 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
