Mississippi State vs. Arkansas Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Mississippi State vs. Arkansas football game
The Mississippi State Bulldogs will play host again and welcome the Arkansas Razorbacks to Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field, where kick-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET on Saturday. MSU is out to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
Last week, the Bulldogs' offense rose to the challenge against an A&M defense that boasted an average of only 11.75 points allowed. They strolled past the Texas A&M Aggies with points to spare, taking the game 42-24. The victory came about even with MSU handicapping themselves with 122 penalty yards. MSU QB Will Rogers was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 329 yards on 45 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Rogers' 75-yard TD bomb to WR Rara Thomas in the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs' defense was a presence as well, as it collected two interceptions and two fumbles. CB Emmanuel Forbes picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Arkansas entered their matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide last week without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. Arkansas has to be aching after a bruising 49-26 defeat to Bama. The Razorbacks were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 28-7. The losing side was boosted by RB Raheim Sanders, who rushed for one TD and 101 yards on 22 carries.
The Bulldogs are the favorite in this one, with an expected 9.5-point margin of victory. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the team has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
MSU is now 4-1 while Arkansas sits at 3-2. Two offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: MSU ranks first in the nation when it comes to passing touchdowns, with 19 on the season. The Razorbacks have displayed some offensive firepower of their own as they come into the contest boasting the ninth most rushing yards per game in the nation at 232.4.
