New Mexico State vs. FIU updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Wednesday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the New Mexico State vs. FIU football game
The FIU Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the New Mexico State Aggies at 9:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Aggie Memorial Stadium. FIU is expected to lose this one by six points, so we'll see if that gives them a bit of motivation.
Last Saturday, FIU was pulverized by Liberty 38-6.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Panthers had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 211 total yards. They were destroyed by their opponents in that department as Liberty gained 520.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but New Mexico State had to settle for a 20-17 loss against Hawaii last Sunday.
Nobody from New Mexico State had a standout game, but they still got scores from Star Thomas and Monte Watkins.
FIU's defeat dropped their record down 3-2, while New Mexico State's bumped their own down to the opposite: 2-3.
Not only did the pair lose their last games, neither team covered either. Looking ahead, New Mexico State is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. This contest will be FIU's third straight as the underdogs (a stretch that saw them go 2-1 against the spread).
FIU steamrolled past New Mexico State in their previous matchup last October by a score of 21-7. Will FIU repeat their success, or does New Mexico State have a better game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
